GERMAN MECHANIC KILLED STRUCK BY OWN PROPELLOR ENGLISHMAN LEADS FIELD (British Official Wireless), Rec. 5.56 p.m. Rugby, July 22. The mechanic of a German aeroplane piloted by Von Oertzen in the circuit of Europe race was climbing out of the aeroplane to rush to the control shed at Heston to-day when he was struck by the propellor and killed, Butler (England) leads the field in the race. He was the first to reach Madrid, followed by Finat, Arrachart and Thorn.
