INTER-SCHOOL RUGBY

OTAGO’S BRIGHT DISPLAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. < Dunedin, Last Night. In a game which provided the usual I bright exhibition of school football, I Otago Boys’ High School defeated Christ’s College at Carisbrook this afteri noon by 21 points to 5. The weather | was fine, but .the recent wet - weather ' had made the-ground soft. The heavy I ball did not, however, affect the handi ling to any great extent, and the game ! was always good to watch. I Otago’s win was primarily due to the ! good performance of its forwards, who • played with great dash, and in jhe first i half hooked the ball from, almost every i scrum. This naturally gave the Otago ! backs plenty of chances, r- d until the last few minutes of the spell the visitors. were almost continuously on defence. Then came one of the finest tries of the day, and it gave the College play-. ers more heart. The spell ended with the scores 6 —5 in Otago’s favour. Though Otago piled up 15 points in the second spell the visitors were more in the picture. They secured more of the ball and played with more determination. The backs as a whole gave the impression that had they seen more of the ball they would have treated the crowd to some good football. The packhowever, was lacking in the dash of the Otago boys. Martin, who scored 15 points for Otago, was always dangerous. The baeks as a whole threw the ball about in good style.
