MAORIS CONTRIBUTE TO : FUNDS. ■ By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 23. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand section of the Institute of Pacific Relations Sir Apirana Ngata announced that the Maori Purposes Board would contribute £5O per annum for •five years to tlie funds of the institute, which requires funds and intends to make a public appeal for them. A committee is to be set up to cooperate with'the Maori Purposes Board in effecting research into the effect of ifeivilisaation on Maoris and Cook Islanders. The next general conference will be ■ jield in China in 1931.
