WOMAN RIFLE SHOT
I , UNIQUE DISTINCTION. triple POSSIBLE SCORE. j In addition to creating a sensation by winning the King’s Prize at the Bisley rifle shooting meeting, Miss Marjorie Foster, the first woman to win the prize, possesses the unQue distinction of being the first person to make a triple possible score on the new smaller bull’seyes. This feat was performed by Miss Foster at Bisley on April 13, 1929, when she shot with a short service rifle and Mark VII. ammunition. In each range shoot, Miss Foster started with an inner as a sighting shot, found the bull’s-eye with her first to count, and held it. The three targets were at 200 yards, 500 yards and 600 yards respectively. With the exception of her fourth shot at 500 yards and her. seventh at 600 yards, Miss Foster was comfortably away from , the line. Seven bulls were scored on each target, making the total score 105 the possible. Diagrams of the different targets show that the group at 200 yards measured 2Jin. by 3in., the group at 500 yards 6in. by lOin., and that at 600 yards Bin. by 12in. There can be nothing “flukey’* about a full score, and it is evident that r Miss Foster holds a very good rifle and holds, it superbly.
