By Telegraph.—Press .Association.
Invercargill, July Interviewed at Bluff, Mr. A. E. Budd, who refereed hi the British match at Tinaaru, was diffident in speaking, .Ho said the reports regarding rough play were grossly exaggerated. . Ho said that there were only two incidents throughout the game to which exception could bo taken, and on each occasion the offending player was cautioned, one being Prentice. The game was not unduly rough, but South Canterbury played so hard and tackled so effectively that I think the Britishers were taken by storm and begaii to squeal. It waa prentice who received the tooth marks. Both sides were penalised impartially and everything said at the dinner was complimentary..
