NEGLIGENCE OF MOTORIST
HOUSEMAID AWARDED DAMAGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 11. Knocked down at Evans Bay on May 22, 1929, by a motor-car driven by Arthur Hurne, a tramway motorman, and sustaining a fractured knee, Margaret McMillan, lately a housemaid at the Empire Hotel, was awarded damages totalling £3BO by the Supreme Court. Mr. Justice Reed said he was satisfied that the accident was entirely due to the negligence; ?of ■ deferidafit, ,and gave judgment Joi*-plaintiff for £232 7s special damages, and £l5O general damages, -with costs.
