WORKER BURNT WITH ACID
CLAIM FOR £2OOO DAMAGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Judgment was reserved by Mr. Justice Smith to-day after hearing lengthy legal argument by counsel for the plaintiff, Mr. Fleming,in a case in which John Kinlock Simpson, labourer, of Otahuhu, claimed £2OOO damages from the Challenge Phosphate Company (Mr. Northcroft). Simpson was the victim of an accident in February, 1929, at the Otahuhu fertiliser works, in which he suffered severe injury from acid burns. Specific acts of negligence were alleged against the defendant company and were denied.
