Middlesex.—Enthoven and Duleepsinhji scored:a century each innings for their respective sides. Middlesex in the first innings made 327 (Enthoven'l24; .Tate took six-wickets for 92) and in the second lost seven for 284 and declared- (Enthoven' 115). Sussex in the first innings made 354 (Duleepsinhji not out 102). Sussex won on the first innings. Essex beat Worcester.—Worcester in the first innings made 332 (Nichol 102; Smith took six wickets for 86) and in the second 200 (Smith took six for 59). Essex in the first innings made 370 (Cutmore 180, Nichols 103) - and in the second lost two wickets for 95. .Ess.es won on the first innings. Derby beat Warwick—Derby in the . first innings made 448. (Storer 102, Townsend 117) and in the second lost none for 17. Warwick in the'first innings made 419 (Oroom 110, Ryatt"l4s; Worthington took five wickets- for 77). Derby won on the first innings. Kent beat Hampshire. —Kent in the first innings made 300 (Ashdown 93, Woolley 98; Kennedy took six wickets for 79) and in the second lost six for 210 declared (Woolley 51). Hampshire .in the first innings made 186 (Freeman, took six for 107) and in the second 173 (Freeman took six wickets for 24). Kent won by 151 runs. Gloucester beat Somerset. —Somerset in the first innings made 372 (M. D. Lyon 210;. Hammond took four wickets for .50) and in the' second 144. Gloucester, in the first innings made 441 (H. Lyon 100, Sinfield 107) and in the second . lost two wickets for 7'9. Gloucester won by eight wickets. 5 Surrey beat in the first innings made 501 (Sandham. 152, Ducat 218). Nottingham in. the first innings made 264 (Paynton 109) and followed on losing seven wickets for 236 (Gunn 81). Surrey won on the first innings. ... .- Yorkshire beat Lancashire. —Yorkshire in tlie first innings lost nine wickets for 419 declared (Leyland not out 211) and in the second lost one for 11. Lancashire in the first innings made 305 (Hopwood 107, Leyland took, nine for 49). Yorkshire won on the first Innings.
Leicester beat Northants. —Northants in the first innings made 178 and in the second 127. Leicester in the first innings made 241 and in the second lost four wickets for 65. Leicester won by six wickets.
