FAREWELLED FROM “ROAD”
PROMOTION FOR MR. E. EVERISS. Commercial travellers in New Plymouth met yesterday to farewell Mr. E. Everiss, of Newton King, Ltd., who is leaving the road on promotion to the position of warehouse manager. Mr. Everiss, who has travelled for the firm for the past 19 years, was presented by the travellers with a .gold-mounted snakeweed walking stick suitably inscribed. The regret the travellers felt that Mr. Everiss would no longer be with them on their travels was expressed by Mr. E. Haydon. He congratulated Mr. Everiss on his well deserved promotion. Mr, F. C. Tribe, in making the presentation, wished Mt. Everiss the best fortune in the future. Mr. J. Brash and other members spoke of their association and the pleasant relationship that had always existed with Mr. Everiss on the road, Mr. J. Sceats emphasising the quiet, conscientious help given by Mr. Everiss towards the commercial travellers’ Christmas cheer effort. The health of the guest was drunk with musical honours, and Mr. Evrniss briefly replied.
