At the opening of the Labour Conference, the president, Sir Henry Fountain, said he was particularly glad to welcome the New .Zealand delegation, attending the conference for the first time. He hoped that the Miners’ Convention would be widely adopted, but it was illusory to suggest that >the measure would solve the industry’s difficulties.
