Hansen, star sound man, the same combination that worked on the filming of “In Old Arizona.” “The Cock-eyed World” is based on a story by Laurence Stallings and Maxwell Anderson, with scenario by Walsh and dialogue by Billy K. Wells. The supporting cast is' truly of the all-star calibre with such- semtillants of stage and screen as Lily Damita. El Brendel, Jean Bary, Leila Karnelly, Bobby Burns, Joe Brown, Solidad Jiminez and Ivan Linow prominent. A Fox Movietone News opens the programme. EVERYBODY’S TALKIES. “THE SQUALL.” The all-talking screen version of “The Squall,” which created & sensation on Broadway as a stage play, will head the new programme at Everybody’s talkies, New Plymouth, to-night. Produced by First National and Vitaphone, the-story concerns a peaceful Hungarian family. There is a middle-aged father and mother; their son who loves a maiden, and their two servants, male and female, who also love each other. Into this ideal atmosphere comes Nubi, the Gipsy charmer. She seeks sanctuary, claiming that she was stolen bya band of Gipsies. They believe her lies and accept her as a servant. But Nubi is not satisfied with that. She proceeds to destroy the love she finds within that home and very nearly wrecks the entire domicile. Her procedure is daring and sensational and gives the screen some of the most impassioned scenes of recent years. The east is excellent and includes Myrna Loy, Alice Joyce, Loretta Young, Richard Tucker, Zasu Pitts, Nicholas Soussanin, and others. “The Squall” will be supported by talking and sound featurettes, including Fox Movietone News, Pathe Sound News and Audio Review.
