REORGANISATION OF RULES. CENTRES TO BE CONSULTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. For three hours this evening the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association discussed the draft of the proposed new rules. Their adoption as a whole has not been completed as certain constitutions are being submitted to the various centres of the association for theii’ approval. In general, the rules have been modified to bring them more precisely in line with those of the International Federation, Draft constitutions of the annual conferences of the centres of cycling delegates and harrier delegates are being circulated to all centres in order to get their approval before their incorporation in the rules and other questions resulting from the Wanganui conferences are being kept in mind. One of this evening’s principal changes was the alteration of the entrance fee for national championship events. Up till now a competitor’s first entry was accompanied by a fee of" 5s and subsequent entries by 2s 6d each. All entry fees, including the first, are now 2s 6d. Standard performances in the quarter mile, mile, long jump, high jump, hop, step and jump, javelin throw and half mile cycle (on banked track) were altered, all others remaining the same. The alterations are: 440 yards, 51 1-5 sec; one mile, 4min 27sec; long jump, 21ft 6in; high jump, sft 9in; hop, step and jump, 44ft 6in; javelin throw, 175 ft; half mile cycle (banked track), 62see.
