DRUNK IN CHARGE OF LORRY
ECHO OF NAPIER FATALITY. ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. s Napier, Last Night. Reginald Frank Hunt, acquitted recently by a jury of negligently drivinga motor-lorry and causing the death of Mrs. Mary Kingsland, to-day appeared before the magistrate on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-lorry. He was fined £25 and declared ineligible to hold a driver’s license for three years. Security for appeal was fixed at £l5 15s. Counsel for the defence raised the plea of autrepois acquis, contending that if this charge had been laid before the Supreme Court it would have been a bar to the indictment. The magistrate held that the plea was not tenable.
