MANAGER ALLEGED THIEF
PALMERSTON MAN CHARGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., June 6. James Ruskin Robertson, a labourer aged 48, charged in the Police Court with having received £351 on terms requiring hi mto account for same to G. Torstonson, Ltd.,' and with fraudulently omitting to account for same, thereby committing a theft, pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for sentence. Accused, it was alleged, received payment for tho accounts as manager of tho timber mills, but did not account for tho money. The poljce gave evidence that, accused, in a statement, said the money was spent in gambling.
