The district’s- high--standard was more than maintained ll ‘jit the : annual opening ball at the WAiM:memorial hall last night, and the Marge-/crowd, that attended despite had a thoroughly enjoyabteutime.. • The hall was decorated with coloured streamers, ferns andijiehrysanthemums. The floor was glassdike.,.. ■. Coburn s orchestra played such music that the task of the master of. ceremonies, Mr. J. Robinson, was considerably lightened. < Mrs. J. Draper supervised the supper preparations. Though several sittings were necessary there was; no . delay. Supper extras were played by Mr. .N. Edwin. The success of the gathering was a tribute to the co-operative spirit in the •/district and to the.. ability , of the secretary, Mr. .J. Draper. .
