MILITARY TRAINING URGED

FEARS AT WAIPUKURAU. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Waipukurau, May 15. A w r ell attended meeting of the Waipukurau Chamber of Commerce last night carried the following motion unanimously:—“That being of the opinion that the present defence forces of tho Dominion are not larger than reasonably essential nor that the costs are a serious burden upon tho people by comparison with the'possible price of unpre-paredness, the chamber regrets that by discontinuing the training camps this year the Government has given encouragement to -anti-niilitary training' advocates and so-called pacifists; further it is desired to record the viewpoint that for physical, disciplinary and patriotic reasons the youth of the Dominion is bettered by service in territorial forces, a brief period of concentrated training each year being highly desirable.”
