•WARDELL—BREWSTER.

The wedding of Alice Lilian, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. E, Brewster, Courtenay Street, New Plymouth, to Thomas John, youngest son of. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wardell, of Stirling, •Scotland, was celebrated on April 15. in^ ; St. John’s Church, Darlinghurst, Sydney. The Rev. Saunders was the minister. Mr. and Mrs. Wardell sail shortly from Fremantle for Africa. •- - -

A wedding of interest in the Matan ■and surrounding districts took place at Christchurch recently,, the bride being Miss Rose Evans, only daughter of Ah', and. Mrs. E. Evans, Alatau, and the bridegroom Mr. Lochiel Kennedy, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Angus Kennedy,'- “Fa'ssifern,”- Kaikoiua. The Rev. W. Bower Black officiated and the organist was Mr. N. Williams. The bride, escorted by her father,wag attired in a frock, of beige reversible soiiple satin, fashioned on simple lines, with which she wore a smart felt hat to tone. Her .bouquet was of bright autumn shaded flowers and berries. Miss Joan Poff, the bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of cinnamon brown crepe de chine and a becoming hat to match. Her bouqueit of multi-coloured flowers and autumn leaves added a bright note to her toilet. Mr. Lester Tisch attended the bridegroom as best man. • - A reception was afterwards held at Ballantyne’s, where Mrs. Musc'hamp, in the absence of thei bride s mother, received a small gattlmring of guests. Later, when- Mr. and Mrs. T. J. BOON—ORBELL

The marriage of Edna, elder daughter of Mr ; and Mrs. J. *W. Orbell, New Plymouth, to Alfred Henry, son of Mrs. Boon and the late Air. J. W. Boon, New Plymouth, was celebrated at 'St. Mary’s Church recently. Canon Strong performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the cliureh with her father, wore an ivory geor ; gettc frock' wiit'h close fitting bodice, a cape collar ami tiny basque edged with ruchings of georgette. The long full skirt was of silver lace with a deep hem of scalloped georgette which dipped at the sides to form an uneven hemline.. A fine net veil was arranged with a spray of orange blossom. Miss A. S. Scott (Wanganui) and Miss Florence M. Seal (Hawke's Bay), the bridesmaids, wore frocks of vieux rose and blue- taffetas respectively, with yokes of silver lace and soft beige felt hats. They carried bouquets to tone. Linehan, a dainty little flower girl, wore a frock of shell pink organdie oyer silk and carried a mauve posy. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. R. Street as best man and Mr. 11. Smiilie as groomsman. The wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride's parents, where only intimate friends and relations were present. Afterwards the bride and bridegroom left by car for a tour of Hie North Island.

The Auroa 'Church was beautifully decorated by the girl friends of the bride when "Jessie, eldest daughter of Mi-, and Mrs. AV. F.- Lyndon was married to Cyril William, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Espin, Auroa. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a white mariette dress made with a circular skirt and trimmed with seed pearls. .She wore a beautifully, em-b'i-oidercii veil worn cap style wi.ih a circlet of orange' blossoms. The.bride .was attended by Miss Nellie' ' Lyndon and Miss '. Rene ' Espin as bridesmaids. They wore Princess Mary blue crepe-de-ebino frocks made with uneven hem line and trimmed with diamante buckles. They had summer felt hats in a pale fawn shade. The bride and bridesmaids carried shower bouquets.- The bridegroom was supported by his-brother, Mr.. Basil Espin, as best num and by’M?.
