22,000 APPLICATIONS FOR LOAN.
LONDON ALLOTMENTS ANNOUNCED

In a statement telephoned from Rotorua, the Premier (Sir Joseph Ward) states he has received a cable from the High Commissioner for New Zealand (Mr. T. M. Wilford) stating that the total applications for the London loan were 21,852, aggregating £19,577,800 of stock.
Allotments have been made as follow: (1) Applicants for £lOO receive nil; (2J £2OO up to £5OO receive £100; (3) over £5OO receive just under 30 per cent. Dealings commenced on the Stock Exchange the morning of May 7, opening at about £9B 17s 6d to £99, and closing in the afternoon at about £99.
