AVOIDING SUICIDE PROBLEM

By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright Washington, May 7. Dr. Noble, the Australian delegate at the first meeting of the International Committee foi Mental Hygiene, made a plea for an international understanding of Australia’s aspirations -in its . White Australia policy. He said such an understanding was a most important factor in the country’s mental hygiene. races. Dr. Emerson, New York, professor of public health, stated that by such a policy of strengthening the mental and physical purity of the race Australia might expect to avoid the suicide problem, which had been quadrupled in the United States in 70 years, and the divorce problem, which had been tripled in the United States in 50 years.
