‘NOT EVEN AN EMERGENCY’

TEAMS FOR FOOTBALL TRIALS

TARANAKI HAS NO ALL BLACKS. DISSATISFACTION EXPRESSED Disappointment that the New Zealand selectors did not consider Taranaki had one player worthy of selection, even as an emergency, for the All Black trial games was expressed by Mr. J. McLeod, chairman of the management committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union, last night. The teams, it was understood, continued Mr. McLeod, were being selected on the form of last year, when Taranaki ' defeated both Wellington and Auckland, yet Auckland had seven and Wellington ten players select ’ and Taranaki none. McLean, who was credited to Taranaki, had not played in Taranaki this season, and was playing in Wellington. “The Taranaki public,” said Mr. McLeod, “has every justification for the extreme dissatisfaction with the selec- .' tion that is being expressed on all sides.”
