ATTACK ON MALTESE PREMIER. \ By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Malta, May 6. The Archbishop has issued a circular declaring that “for a reason .known to anybody with a pi.rk oi,.Christian sentiment,” he condemns the newspapers Malta Chronicle and Ixvonix (meaning the sun), which it the paper of the Premier, Sir Gerald Strickland. The Archbishop also prohibits under penalty of mortal sin their reading or sale. If they continue publication in the same tenor he will inflict canonical penalties on the proprietors, editors and associates.
