FORTY-FIVE YEARS’ SERVICE

INSURANCE MANAGER RETIRING.

(By Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night.

After 45 years’ most successful service Mr. H. M. Didsbury will retire at the end of this month from the managership of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Insurance Company, which he has held since 1920. Born in Wellington, Mr. Didsbury joined the branch of the company there in 1885, and in 1897 was selected to open a branch of the company’s operations at New Plymouth. Having successfully inaugurated that branch, he was transferred for a time to Perth, Western Australia, and thence to India.

In 1932 Mr. Didsbury was appointed manager at Napier, and in 1918 manager at Dunedin. In 1920 the directors chose him to assume control of the company’s affairs at Auckland.
