FALL DOWN LIFT WELL
FATAL INJURIES RECEIVED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An inquest was opened by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., into the death of Lewis Bernard Tester, aged 18, who died five days after he fell 10 feet down a lift well at a factory at Newmarket. He continued going to his employment until last Friday when ho complained of pains in the head. After remaining in bed until Sunday morning ho died at his home. Deceased's mother stated that when her son camo home from work last Tuesday ho said he had had a slight accident, having fallen down the lift well. Ho went to work on Friday afternoon and said he had a severe headache. On Saturday morning at one o’clock ho said his head was still aching and at 1 p.m. tho same day witness called in Dr. Pettit and deceased remained in bed all Saturday. In “addition to headaches deceased had complained of his back since tho accident. He died at 7.45 on Sunday morning. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
