HOMING PIGEON RACING
EGMONT CLUB ACTIVITIES. A race was flown by the Egmont Homing Club (New Plymouth) on April 19 from Waverley, six lofts forwarding 52 birds for liberation. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 8.15 a.m., and the winner homed at 10.15 41sec. The places were filled as follow:— J. Bellringer’s No. 21, 2hrs. Ornin. 41 sec.; velocity 845.85 yards per minute 1 J. Alldridge’s No. 90, 2hrs. Imin. . , 37sec.; 839.35 yards 2 M. Andrews’ No. 71, 2hrs. Imin. 37 sec.; 839.35 yards 2 B. Sole’s No. 50, 2hro. Imin. 49sec.; 838.09 yards 4 A. Raby’s No. 1, Yvonne, 2hra. Imin, 53sec 5 H. Kendall’s No. G, 2hrs. 31min. 25 sec 6 Another race was flown on April 26, this time from Aramoho. Five members competed. The weather on this occasion was favourable for flying. The birds were liberated at 12.42 p.m., the winner homing at 2.45 38sec. The places were filled as follow: — M. Andrews’ No. 70, 2hrs. 3min. 38 sec.; velocity, 1181.G9 yards per minute 1 B. Soles No. GO, 2hrs. Srnin. 42sec.; 1180.92 yards 2 J. Bellringer’s No. 14, 2hrs. smin. 18sec.; 1165.88 yards 3 J.
