FINANCE OF M|C.C. TOUR.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

. Christchurch, Last Night. The Rcdpath Cup, awarded annually to tJie batsmen with the best record in representative and Test matches, has this year been awarded to C. S. Dempster, who also won the cup for the 19271928 season. Dempster played ten innings, eight of them against the M.C.C. team, and with four not outs averaged 93.66 rims per innings. His highest score was 141 not out, and his aggregate in representative cricket 562 runs. The management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Association tonight endorsed the chairman’s ruling that Dempster’s appointment as professional coach to the Wellington Cricket Association would not affect his eligibility for the New Zealand team to tour England. Advice was received that the New. South Wales Government had. agreed to remit its share of the taxation charged on the receipts of the M.C.C. match in Sydney. The Federal authorities were still considering the matter. The total taxation levied was £3Bl, and approximately. half comprised the New South Wales share.
