PRICE SHOOTING SYSTEM

letters appear at inquest

SON .SAYS HE KNOWS NO MORE.

ENQUIRY AGAIN ADJOURNED.

By. Telegraph.—Press Asscetatlon. Palmerston N., May 1.

The inquiry into the death of Walter Edwin Price, who was found shot in his bedroom at Palmerston North, was continued this morning before Mr. Stout, S.M., the coroner. Detective Russell said that extensive inquiries had failed to revca’l anyone who bore enmity to Price or was likely to do him harm. Dr. Laurenson, .Matamata, had been interviewed by the police and had stated that he attended Price following a motor accident in January, 19’29. Subsequently Price appeared to be suffering from spinal neurasthenia which was likely, to produce fits of depression, from which Price did suffer.. It was not improbable that he might take his life under such circumstances.

Detective Russell produced a similar statement in regard to tho inquiries from Dr. Putman, who, however, said he had observed no marked signs of depression in April, 1928. ■» Following an examination of witness by Mr. McGregor, solicitor for the Price family,, concerning . a missing sum of money stated to be in the house, the coroner said there was no evidence that money was ever in the house and it was no use suggesting homicide. The only person wlio could tell anything was Price and they would hardly get anything from him. Senior-Detective Quirke said that all inquiries bad failed to reveal a .gun.
