INCREASE IN BEER DUTIES SHOWN
FALL OF OVER . £7OO IN CUSTOMS
In the Customs duties collected at the port of New Plymouth during the past month a decrease of over £7OO is shown, but last year’s figures were a record since 1926, and the total for April, .1930, is nearly £7OO in advance of the figures sjiown for that month in 1928. Beer duties show a remarkable rise and. nearly double the figures of last year. However, the total is almost £lO below that of., each of the three preceding months of this year.
