WESTOWN INGLESIDE

LARGE CROWD ASSEMBLES. J When the Scots descended upon the Westown Hall last night to pipe and dance a large number of residents gathered to participate. It was another of the New Plymouth Caledonian Society’s inglesides. The hall was filled to overflowing. Blue and gold streamers hung profusely around the hall, lending a carnival atmosphere to the ingleside, and the finely polished floor was a delight to dancers. Played in with all due ceremony by'Pipers R. Black and P. Henry, the haggis was borne around the hall by Haggis-bearer A. Rankin, and Chief A. McDiarinid delivered the ode. Supper was dispensed by the Westown Hall ladies’ committee. Variety was given to the evening when vocal items were rendered by Messrs. P. Frcdric, W. Cleland and Miss Coleman, Mr. Fredrie playing the accompaniments. Music for the waltzes and modern dances was rendered by Martin’s Orchestra and all numbers were enthusiastically received. Messrs. J.
