By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.
Rec. 9.30 p.m. Sydney, April 29. The wool sales were continued to-day. Of the offering of 9185 bales 8844 were sold at auction and 1851 privately. There was strong general competition, with perhaps more forcible bidding by Yorkshire and Japan, and the improved conditions reported yesterday were fully maintained. Greasy Merino made 28d. a lb.
It is reported from Melbourne that spinners’ wools sold from five to 10 per cent, higher than the rates ruling before Easter, and other wools averaged an advance of five to seven and a half per cent- • . •
