HUNT-SMITH.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Methodist Church, Hawera, -on Easter Monday, the church being prettily decorated by friends of the bride. The Rev. E. S. Emmitt performed the ceremony, when Frances Annie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith, of Tawhiti, was married to Oswald, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. Hunt, also of Tawhiti. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked dainty in a frock of white georgette finished with silver lace, with embroidered tulle veil, whieh fell from a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern, and silver shoes and stockings completed her charming toilet. In attendance were two bridesmaids, Miss Mary Tomlinson (Puk-ekohe) and Miss Ellice Smith (sister of the bride). They wore frocks of pink silk marocain and lace, with head dresses to tone and silver shoes. They carried bouquets of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. The ■bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Dan. Hunt, as best man, and Mr. Ray CUiainey, of Stratford, as groomsman. Miss M. Squire was at the organ.

After the ceremony the bride’s parents received the guests at the Carlton Tea Rooms, Mrs. Smith being attired in a smart frock of fawn wool crepe de chine, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of brown flowers and autumn foliage. Later Mr. and Mrs. Hunt left by the south train for the Hawke’s Bay district, the bride travelling in a jersey silk frock and brown eoat, with hat and shoes to tone.

The wedding was solemnised at the I Roman Catholic Church, Inglewood, on

April 17 of Maud Cara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Longstaff, King Road, Inglewood, and James : Patrick (Jim) Kerrisk, Inglewood, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kenisk, Wharehuia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Forrestal. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired in a dainty gown of white satin crepe de chine, made - in* the four-peaked hemline, edged , with deep silver lace, and

silver lace tunic and sleeves, an embroidered veil with a long train, which was arranged with a wreath of orange blossoms in tho mob cap style, a large bouquet of various white flowers, asparagus and maidenhair fern and silver tinsel shoes. She was attended by her sister, Miss Nancy Longstaff, as bridesmaid. She was also daintily dressed in h fiholl pink satin crepc-de-chine frock with a pink shoulder spray, headdress of pink tulle and large bouquet to tone with her frock, with streamers, of pink satin ribbon. Mr. Kerrisk was attended by his brother, Mr. Jack Kerrisk, Wharehuia.

After the ceremony a large number of relatives and friends adjourned to the Inglewood town hall, where the wedding breakfast Was held under coloured decorations and white bells. Mrs. Longstaff - received her guests dressed in an electric blue silk marocaine frock with hat en suite and grey fox ;fur. She carried a bouquet of coloured sweet peas. Mrs. Kerrisk, mother of tho bridegroom, was -dressed in navy with black hat :and carried a bouquet of purple flowers. Numerous toasts were honoured and a number of telegrams read. Later in the day Mr. and Mrs. Kerrisk left by car. on a honeymoon trip which was spent at the Waitomo Caves, Rotorua, Hamilton and Cambridge. The bride travelled in a black velvet frock, and blue velour coat trimmed with skunk fur, with hat, shoes and stockings en suite.

A week prior to" their marriage Miss Maudie Longstaff and Mr. Kerrisk were entertained at a kitchen tea organised by Mrs. A. Thompson at her home on Hursthouse Road, when many presents were presented from a large number of neighbours and a very enjoyable evening was spent.
