SECRET CASINOS IN LONDON
WEST END CROUPIERS .IN DEMAND
Expert croupiers are greatly in demand in London as a result of the sudden increase in the number of secret gaming houses in the West End which have replaced many night clubs. Since last summer a large number of aliens described as "croupiers” have settled in London. Many stately mansions in Mayfair are being leased for the purpose of converting them into private casinos, and 'baccarat and roulette for high stakes is the latest after-midnight diversion of London’s smart set.
A wealthy young man who is a regular visitor to an exclusive gambling, den near Park Lane said recently that several croupiers formerly employed at the Sporting Club at Monte Carlo and the casino at Deauville are working in London. “I recognised a croupier who paid me out a big win at Cannes last year at a gaming house I visited in Belgravia last week,” he said.
