By Telegraph—Press Assn, —Copyright.
Rec. 9.55 p.m. Ottawa, April 24. The report that an Australian had been recommended as the Governor-Gen-eral of the Commonwealth has revived gossip here as to who shall succeed Lord Willingdon at the expiration of his term next year. It has frequently been suggested that the Duke of York will be named and he is likely to be the first choice of Canadians. If this is impossible the question of the appointment of a Canadian undoubtedly will be given consideration. The name of Sir Robert Borden is often mentioned.
