POLICE SUPPRESS THE “NUISANCE” By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 8.30 p.m. Venice, Jan. 16, 'Hits city, once of silence broken only by/tender serenades, has risen in revolt against gramophones and loud-speakers. The police are taking action against the nuisance. It is explained that the peculiar accoustics of Venice amplify to such an extent that jazz becomes deafening across the narrow canals.
