CHICHESTER AT CALCUTTA

Captain Chichester spent last night at Jhansi and flew to the Dumdum aerodrome, Calcutta, to-day, covering the distance of 700 miles in six and threequarter hours. This is almost a record achievement for a small plane, over the most difficult part of India. . Chichester was fatigued on his arrival at Karachi on Tuesday, after his long flight from Chahbar. He set out next morning for Calcutta, but was only able to reach Jhansi. He leaves Calcutta tomorrow for Rangoon. ENGLAND—AUSTRALIA FLIGHT. TWO NEW ZEALANDERS PLANNING London, Jan. 16. Flying Officers H. L. Piper and' C. E. Kay, New Zealanders attached to the 26th Squadron at Catterick, representing the national petrol station and subsidiary national flying services, are arranging to Ay a Hermes engined de Scoutter cabined monoplane from London to Darwin.
