BOY DROWNED IN LAKE
JUMPED INTO DEEP WATE.IL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Last Night. A half-caste boy, Rangi Gannon, aged 14, residing with his uncle at the Pollock Settlement, Auckland, was drowned in the lake at the Hamilton-Domain this afternoon. He jumped off a diving platform out of his depth. Several Children nearby noticed him jump in, but did not raise an alarm until he had been under water for several minutes. William Lane, who was asleep in a car in the domain ground, was attracted by the cries of the children. He hurried to the spot, jumped in and pulled the boy out on to the bank. Resuscitation methods were tried unsuccessfully, for over two hours.
