AN ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY
WANTED MAN FINDS REFUGE.
Wellington, Last Night.
After having been apprehended by Acting-Detective Hall at about 2 o’clock to-day a man who had been found in suspicious circumstances escaped while being escorted to the police station, running into the Union Steam Ship Company’s building. The building was quickly surrounded by police, and although a thorough search was instituted the wanted man could not be located, and was still missing to-night.
