DECEMBER BIRTHS AND DEATHS. By Telegraph—Press Associalion Wellington, Last Night. During December the total number of live births registered for urban areas in New Zealand amounted to 982, as against 1080 in November, a decrease of 98. Deaths in December numbered 531, a decrease of 5 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 275 and females 256, while 47 of the deaths were of children under five years of age, or 8.85 per cent, of the whole number, and 34 of these were under one year of age.
