SHEEPSKIN EXPORT TAX

WEST AUSTRALIA JUDGMENT.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.

Perth, Jan. 16.

The report of the proposed export tax on sheepskins has been received here with indignant incredulity. The prices at the current wool sales were unprofitable to growers and, with no fellmongers in the State, any handicap on the free market for skins will injure sheepowners through the price received for fat stock. The Pastoralists’ Association has been uunable to get a reply from the Scullin Government regarding the report.
