URENUI BEACH PICNIC
PREPARATIONS FOR TO-MORROW. A meeting of the Urenui Seaside Society improvement cornmitee was held on Saturday, when matters in connection with the society’s annual picnic to be held to-morrow were finalised. The committee has been working hard to ensure tho complete success of this year’s gathering. In addition to the many improvements carried out on the beach an attractive programme has been arranged. It includes events for young and old. The beach and river provide excellent bathing. Treasure hunts and boating races should result in this year’s gathering being a complete success. Hot water is provided by the society. Access is obtained by a metalled road from opposite the Maori pa.
