DAMAGE BY TERRIFIC STORM. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, December 28. Floods in the south and terrific storms in the north and north-west have caused widespread damage, and dislocated telegraph and railway services on the.south coast. Washaways occurred on railway lines, the water being three feet over the permanent way. The outskirts of the town of Cootanuindra are Hooded. A huge inland sea extends for miles. A terrific electric storm, followed by a cylonie storm, caused enormous damage in the Grafton district. Cattle were struck dead, homes wrecked and the town plunged into darkness. Many persons had remarkable escapes from death.
