PERSONAL ITEMS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Allen Benning Bates, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bates, Manaia Road, died at the Hawera Hospital on Christmas Day. He had spent the 12 years of his life at Kaponga and was a very popular boy. Mr. and Mrs. W. Brewer, Mangaweka, are visiting Mr. Brewer’s brother during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Mr. C. Harding, Auckland, is on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Harding. Mr. and Mrs. R. . Stewart, Feilding. arc visitors at Kaponga during the holidays as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. C. Evans and family, New Plymouth, are spending the holidays with their relatives, Mrs. I. Evans and family. ■Mr. and Mrs. F. Fazackerley and daughter, Stratford, are spending their holidays with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Fever. Mr. R. B. Jones, formerly of the Kaponga post office staff but now of Opunake, is on a month’s furlough, which is being spent visiting relatives in the South Island.
Mr. W. R. Bell, who has been spending Christinas with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. Wells, returned to Pahncrston North on Friday. Mr. J. W. Glcnny, of the Public Works Department,, Wellington, accompanied by his wife and daughter, are spending the Christmas and New Year holidays as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Corder.
