Airs. J. Quinn and Miss M. Quinn, who have been spending a few days in Eltham, have returned to Wanganui.

Airs. A. Best and Mrs. H. C. Belcher were hostesses at a very enjoyable afternoon last Friday in honour of Miss B. Cartwright. Those present were: Mesdames Tiplady, Riddle, Whitacre. J. Quinn, St. L. R’eeves, J. McLaughlin, C. A. Belcher, J. Best and the Alisses D. Riddle, Slater (2), Brooker, N. Campbell, Trolove (2), B. Kelly, P. Wylds and E. Belcher. Interesting competitions were won by Mrs. McLaughlin and Aliss Brooker.

Those present were Miss Kelly, Aliss bifsenden, Aliss Buekeridge, Aliss Blennerhassett, Miss Woodridge, Aliss Smith and Aliss Brooker. a « a # Airs. A. Chrystal and Mrs. Wilson are visiting New Plymouth. w * # At tho closing of tho Alata school last night Miss B. Cartwright was presented with a cake stand and three Doulton plates.
