In connection with the alleged conspiracy case Morris Abraham Kutner (aged 37 years), Daniel Joseph Rogers (65), Albert Monroe Cameron (27), and Harry Roden (39), auctioneers, Albert Arthur Ellisdon (60), merchant, and Harry Levy (67), broker, were charged with conspiracy to defraud such persons as should be induced to give credit to Cheapley’s, Limited, or to A. A. Ellisdon by false representation. The police stated that goods worth about £65,000 had been obtained from various firms. About £15,000 worth had been recovered and there was aboyt £3OOO left in the bank.' Cheapley’s, Limited, sold the goods at half-price or less. The case was adjourned till January 10, bail being allowed. The police stated that at least 100 witnesses would be called.
