VICTORIA LEAGUE.

Victoria League members in all parts of the Empire offered through the league’s monthly notes their very warm and affectionate congratulations to Lady Jersey on the occasion of her 80th birthday on October 29. The central executive sent her a basket of flowers with a note from the 'president of the Victoria League in London, Lady Forster, conveying the good wishes of the Victoria Leagues everywhere. Ten cases of Christmas gift’s have been packed and forwarded by the New Plymouth Victoria League to kind folk in the backblocks, who will act as Father Christmas and distribute them in their districts. The president, Mrs. C. H. Burgess, thanks all the kind donors who have made it possible to give joy to the backblockri dwellers. Mrs. E. A. Walker donated a beautiful baby’s quilt for competition to help with this work, and Mr. Dinniss re-donated the stuffed elephant he won recently. Among the gifts for the hcnpital was a liberal supply of lavender from Messrs. Duncan and Davies.
