PLANS. FOR TEA KIOSK AMENDED. A report on the tea kiosk was presented to a committee meeting of the Waitara Seaside Society on Monday evening by the secretary. He said several builders who had tendered previously considered that with the plans in the modified form the price could be much reduced. The matter was left in the hands of a sub-committee to obtain as many prices as possible on the amended plans. It was decided to hold the gala day on January 18. Arrangements were discussed and a sub-committee was appointed to compile a programme. The secretary reported that the New Plymouth Pipe Band would be available on that date, and it was decided to obtain the band’s services. Two tenders were received for refreshment room rights and that of Mrs. W. Wordsworth was accepted. Owing to tiie secretary being away on holiday for some weeks, Mr, W. Wordsworth was appointed acting secretarv.

GENERAL ITEMS.

The Waitara. Cycle and Athletic Club sports to have taken place on Tuesday evening had to be abandoned owing to the weather. Owing to the holidays they will not take place until early in the new year. The proprietors of Staigs" Enterprises have given a percentage of their receipts at Waitara on Monday evening to the school. The donation amounted to £5 7s 6d and will receive a £1 for £1 subsidy from the Education Department.
