NEW CLERK OF PARLIAMENTS
MB. E. W. KANE’S APPOINTMENT.

Wellington, Last Night. The appointment is announced of Mr. Edward William Kane, clerk of the House'of Representatives, to the position of Clerk of Parliaments and clerk of tho Legislative Council in succession to the late Mr. A. F. Lowe. Born in Wellington, Mr. Kano is a son of tho late Mr. Henry Russell Kaiu. He was educated in this city. After studying law for a while ho joined the parliamentary staff in 1886. Ho occupied various positions in tho Legislative Department until ho was appointed Clerk of tho House of Representatives in 1920, following the appointment of the lato Mr. Lowe as Clerk of ParliaOS .'IX-
