TROUBLE AT DANCES.
Sir,—In reference to ,an. itejn which appeared in the Mangatoki district news in Tuesday’s issue of the Daily News, the committee of the bachelors’ and spinsters’ ball wish to contradict the statement reported regarding the rowdy element said to have visited the Matapu hall on the 14th. As for “dead marines” being thrown through the windows, it is ridiculous; there was no such thing. The large crowd present at the function last Thursday night would not like to be insulted by such a report. The committee would be very pleased if the Mangatoki correspondent would report his own local news as Matapu does—l am, etc., H. HOSKIN. Matapu, November 19.
