JOHANSSON BEATS VANCE
DUNEDIN WRESTLING MATCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The Dunedin wrestling season concluded to-night, when Wai Johansson (13 stone), heavyweight champion of Finland, beat Farmer Vance (12.3), light-heavyweight champion of Canada, by two falls to one. The contest was a hard one and Vance’s spectacular display was not as much in evidence as usual. Vance secured a submission fall with a toe hold, leg lock and arm hold in the third round. In the concluding rounds Johansson was doing most of the attacking, Vance showing remarkable resistance and capacity for extricating himself from difficult situations. Johansson secured a fall in the sixth round with an arm scissors and another fall in the seventh round with a short arm scissors and arm bar. Vance was a little unlucky, as in the second round the gong saved Johansson from a certain fall.
