Sinclair, motored through to Hamilton on Wednesday, Mr. Sinclair was a successful candidate at the last Theological Examinations, and is to be inducted to the Diaconate at St. Peter’s Cathedral on Sunday. He has accepted the position of assistant to the vicar of the Okato Parochial Distr.'ct-, for 12 months from December 1. The death of Mr. George Cunningham at the age of 54 occurred in a private hospital in New Plymouth early last evening. Death resulted from complications following an operation. Mr. Cun- - ningham, who was born at Mangorei, took up farming early in life at Manaia, retiring in later years to New Plymouth. He is survived by his wife, nee Miss C. Hamlin, and daughter, Miss Alma Cunningham.

The death occurred suddenly at his residence at Dunedin last night of MrMaurice H. Priest, manager of the Atlas Insurance Company, states a Press Association message. Mr. Priest was a wellknown figure in rowing circles, being associated with the Otago Rowing Cluo for over 30 years. With J. McGrath he won the New Zealand pairs sculling championship four years in succession. He leaves a widow, one son and two daughters.
