PROFICIENCY EXAMINATIONS
NEW REGULATIONS POSTPONED. By ivii'sjrajrn. —rress . Wellington, Nov. 21. The secretary of the Wellington Federation of Education Associations has dispatched the following telegram to the Minister of Education at Auckland: “The new regulations governing proficiency examinations brought into force are seriously affecting children sitting this year. My federation strongly urges you to instruct that a postponement of the regulations be made until the 1930 examination.” The following reply was received from, the Minister, Mr. H. Atmore: “I have directed the department that the new regulations governing proficiency examinations are not to apply , this year.”
